I also teach the Mindfulness Now programme which offers a fusion of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). The latter, developed by Dr Mark Williams and colleagues of the University of Oxford and the Oxford Mindfulness Centre, offers a breakthrough in the clinical treatment of depression, anxiety and emotional trauma and it is recommended by ‘NICE‘ as a treatment of choice for depression. As a Mindfulness Now Accredited Teacher, I offer one-to-one sessions in Mindfulness based practices. As well as teaching Mindfulness Meditation for relaxation, it also helps with stress, anxiety, depression and pain management.Look me up on the Mindfulness Teachers’ Register.

What happens in a Mindfulness Consultation?
After our initial chat we can start our Mindfulness sessions, whether this is by phone, skype or in person. The session lasts an hour and is roughly divided into three parts of twenty minutes.
The first part is an opportunity for you to talk about what is causing you the most concern in your life. After your first session, this part of the hour will be a review of your week.
Following this twenty minute review, I will then move on to the teaching part of the session when I will explain in more depth how to develop your practice over the following week.
The final part of our hour together will be time for me to lead you in a Mindfulness Meditation which will be bespoke to your situation and needs.
What EXACTLY IS Mindfulness Meditation?
We will sit calmly together and I will encourage you to feel comfortable in your space. I will suggest you close your eyes or lower your gaze.
Following this, I will guide you through a meditation and you will start to feel more relaxed. This may involve asking you to focus your attention on your breathing, sensations in your body, your thoughts and feelings, thus developing your ability to remain comfortably in the present moment.
What is most important to me is that you trust me and the fact that we are doing something highly beneficial for your overall health and well-being. It’s never easy to ask for help so take the first step and contact me today.
